Try this delicious barbecue sauce on all of your pulled pork sandwiches, barbecue chicken, and dare I say smoked briskets?

Ingredients

  • ½ lbs butter

  • ½ onion, finely chopped

  • 1 ½ cups ketchup

  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Juice of ½ lemon

Directions

  1. In a 2-quart saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté for 4 minutes or until the onions are translucent.

  2. Add the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, and lemon juice.

  3. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about ten minutes. Remove from the heat and let the sauce cool. Use with your favorite BBQ recipes.
